Meet the Principal

We welcome Mrs. Chainey as our principal at, for the 2007-2008 school year!

Mrs. Chainey is a hard worker.  She chose to become a principal because she “wanted to help create programs and opportunities for students, work with teachers and to help students.”  Prior to working at Kennedy, she served as a teacher and science chairperson at Donovan Middle School.  She also worked at Proctor High School as a teacher and later as an assistant principal.  Her administrative career also included serving as an Academy principal for the Academy of Life, Health and Environmental Science.
As a principal, her responsibilities at J. F. K. are to “oversee all of the programs, teachers, and staff, and safety of the building, grounds, and students.”
With every job there are good and bad aspects. The things she loves about Kennedy are “the people”. The thing she does not like about her job is having to discipline students.
In her educational background Mrs. Chainey graduated from Proctor High School, and later Hamilton College. She continued her own education by graduating from the SUNY Science and Health Center and SUNY Cortland.  At Cortland, she obtained her CAS in educational administration. Other graduate work included clinical immunology.
As you can see, Mrs. Chainey is an intelligent, responsible, helpful, educated, and hard working person. She has worked in many different places, where she has had many life experiences. As a wise person, the advice and words of wisdom our principal has for her students at John F. Kennedy is to “work hard, follow the rules, and have good times.” I am sure she can help the students at John F. Kennedy Middle School academically in many ways!
