Utica’s Longest Tap Line was
held on Friday, April 30th. This was
the 8th year that Watson Williams has sponsored the event in cooperation with
the City of Utica. The Utica Police blocked off Elm Street from the Parkway to James
Street so that over 800 people could perform "Tap Your Troubles
Away". Included in the celebration
was the color guard from the Proctor ROTC, the National Anthem sung by Miss
Alexis Beck, and a performance by the celebrated Showstopper Productions. The Mayor of Utica and the County Executive
presented proclamations. With the
students of Watson Williams leading the way, the participants showed their
neighborhood how easy and fun it is to "Tap Your Troubles Away"!
