    The Utica City School District will provide a quality education for a diverse student population in a safe and orderly environment. Students will develop essential academic and responsible citizenship skills and graduate ready to pursue continuing education, become gainfully employed or enlist in military service. This district will provide quality and equity in the distribution of resources including well‐maintained facilities and emerging technology. Fiscal and administrative accountability and continuous improvement in the education of our students is the goal of the Utica City School District.

  • From November 29th thru December 18th, local schools will be collecting canned goods and other items that will be given to Military and Veterans families across the Utica/Rome, Mohawk Valley area.
    Donations will be pick up on December 18-20 and brought to the New Hartford American Legion Post 1376 for distribution.
    Max's Print Shop will be providing a personalized 5-foot tall stocking to promote the program in participating schools.
    In exchange for their holiday donation, children (and adults) will be given a holiday reward, plus be put in a drawing to win a School T Shirt or Treasure Box. Each school will receive 5 T-Shirts and 5 Treasure Boxes, provided by Max's Print Shop.
    On December 18th a local hero will come to the schools and pull a winner.
    A stocking and collection site will also be set up at Max L. Cowen’s Student Stores and Print Shop located on 943 8 River Road in Marcy.
    Along with Max's Print shop this program is also sponsored by New Hartford Legion Post 1376, 92. 7 The Drive Radio, The Utica Yard Dogs, Central NY Jr. Roller Derby and more.

Albany School Reads

Members of the New York Air National Guard's 224th Air Defense Group take time to read to our students.


Celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Readers volunteered from across the community to read to your kids.

  • Students were read books by Fire Chief Russell Brooks, Callihan Marshall from WKTV, Jamie Deline from WUTR, Michelle Klosek from the Landmark Society, a representative of the Oneida County Sherrif's Office. And David Laguerre of AWE (Advocacy Welcomes Empowerment) collected and donated over 300 books for our students to take home.

SCIENCE FAIR 2017

Members of the Utica Comets have a Q and A with students and speak on the importance of a good education and teamwork. And pass out autographed photos.
