Mrs. JoAnne Kucerak

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. JoAnne Kucerak

Greetings!  My name is Mrs. JoAnne Kucerak, and I have been teaching Music, Kindergarten through 6th grade, for approximately 17 years, with the past 15 years being in the Utica City School District.

Prior to my teaching, I was a professional children's singer/songwriter and performer, and I have worked in libraries, schools, and other venues presenting my program to my young audiences.  In 1996, I produced a CD of original children's music called, "You're Invited!," which covered an array of topics from kindness, to reading, to career possibilities. I  have also had some of these songs performed on local radio.

I have been a member of the American Society of Composers, Artists and Publishers, (ASCAP) and I am currently a member of the New York State Schools Music Association, (NYSSMA) the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, (AOSA), as well as the National Association for Music Education, (NAfME.)

I have been the recipient of  the Teacher of the Month Award from the Utica City School District, as well as having earned the "Keys Music Teacher of the Year Award."

I absolutely LOVE teaching elementary music, and I look forward to many more happy and successful years in the classroom.
