    for Universal

The Utica City School District offers FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) to all Utica City School District residents with children who are four years old ON or BEFORE December 1, 2020. The program is located at many different sites throughout the City of Utica for 2 1/2 hours per day for 180 school days. Children that participate in the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program develop language, literacy, and math skills they need in order to prepare for success in kindergarten while engaged in fun activities based on age appropriate themes that change weekly.
All UPK teachers are New York State certified to teach Pre-K and participate in on-going professional development to continually update their professional skills and knowledge base. Applications can be obtained from the Pre-K & Student Programs Office or a participating Universal Pre-Kindergarten Agency. Call
792-2216 for an application and further information.
Please be advised that the list of participating agencies may change each year.
