"Good Morning Proctor!" Celebrates Black History Month

Every day this month during our morning program, "Good Morning Proctor", Mr. Parrotta's Heritage Keepers Local History Club does research about Utica and the Mohawk Valley.

Today, his group introduced us to Utica’s own Major League Baseball Player, Dave Cash, in honor of Black History Month. Dave Cash is a former professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball as a Second Baseman from 1969-1980. Born in Utica, Dave was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School and helped the Pirates win the 1971 World Series. Also, in 1972, Dave was part of the 1st ALL Minority lineup in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates. A big thank you to Mr. Parrotta and his club for compiling these daily reports to be shared with all of Proctor High School!
