Proctor Environmental Science Club Plants Roots for the Future

On Tuesday, May 13, the Proctor High School Environmental Science Club continued its annual tradition of giving back to the Earth by planting a tulip tree and a black spruce in front of the school. These new additions build on the growing grove the club has nurtured over the past three years.

The trees were purchased using funds the students raised by collecting returnable bottles and cans throughout the school year. Their efforts highlight a strong commitment to sustainability and create a lasting contribution to the school community.

Special thanks go to Mark Paciello, Don Cooley, the building and grounds crew, and Proctor alum and arborist Mike Mahanna for their help and support. The students, staff, and UCSD community look forward to watching the trees grow and thrive for years to come.
