Watson-Williams January Newsletter

To Our Parents, Guardians, and Friends,

On behalf of the faculty and staff, we thank all the students, family, and friends who joined us for our Breakfast and Books event. We hope that your time spent with us was enjoyable. We were able to raffle off two bicycles for two deserving students. The Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDM) appreciates the donations provided by our community partners, McDonald's, Lowes, and the Gorea family. Your continued support helped the event to be a huge success. We also want to thank our community readers who took time out of their busy schedules to read to all of the classes and bring smiles to the student's faces. Having community readers and our families as judges awarded one classroom a popcorn party courtesy of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" displayed by Ms. Mejias, our Parent Liaison. Please visit our website for highlights.

We also want to thank our good Samaritans who provided toys to "Stuff the Bus." As a result, we were acknowledged as the most significant contributors and won first place. Your donations will make many children very happy this holiday season. The students at Watson are also delighted as we will have a DJ party from KISS FM as a token of their goodwill.

We are off to a good start this school year. We have provided enriching learning experiences for our students, and many more exciting activities are planned. Our primary focus continues to be academic achievement and providing students with experiences to be life-long learners.

Hopefully, there won't be any snowstorms! But, in case of bad weather, please listen to the radio or watch TV for a possible school closing. We also send mass messages to parents and community partners for essential updates, so please advise the school of any telephone number changes that you may have had. We wish you all a safe and peaceful

New Year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Cheryl B. Minor
Principal
