A Holiday Message from Dr. Kathleen Davis, Interim Superintendent

To Our Utica City School District Families and Community,

As the holiday season unfolds, I am filled with profound gratitude and joy to be a part of the Utica City School District. This is a time of year to celebrate with families and friends, cherishing the moments that bring us together in warmth and happiness.

In our district, we are proud to have nearly 50 languages spoken and a beautiful assortment of cultures.  Each one contributes to the rich, diverse celebration of this season, each in its own unique and wonderful way.  Let us embrace and celebrate this diversity, which is a cornerstone of our district’s strength and unity.

Yet, it's important to acknowledge that the holidays can be challenging for some.  To those in our community who may find this season difficult, please know you are not alone.  You are a valued part of our community, a community that cares deeply and supports one another.  We wish you peace, comfort, and the knowledge that you are appreciated.

This school year, like many before it, has brought its challenges.  Yet, through these, the spirit of the Utica City School District has not just endured but thrived.  We have witnessed incredible educational strides from our students, a testament to their resilience and eagerness to learn.  This achievement is not solitary but a shared victory nurtured by the dedication, creativity, and strength of our outstanding teachers and staff.  Your commitment is the heartbeat of our success.

As we reflect on these achievements, it's clear what makes Utica such a special place.  It's the collective spirit, the shared goals, and the unwavering support we offer each other.

On behalf of our Utica City School District leadership team and Board of Education, we wish you a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season.  May it be filled with joy, peace, and the warmth of loved ones.

Looking ahead, I am excited to welcome you all back in 2024.  Let's step into this new year with a heart full of hope and enthusiasm, ready to embrace the joys, successes, and sense of community that awaits us.

Happy Holidays, and see you in the New Year!

Warm regards,

Dr. Kathleen Davis
