This month’s Wynn Hospital tour served as a launching point for students interested in the
MVHS Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The visit provided an introduction to a wide range of
healthcare careers within the hospital setting. Students were able to hear directly from
professionals in each department. Eighty students applied for the program, which will allow
selected participants to become paid hospital employees while shadowing multiple departments
across the healthcare field. The next step in the process includes interviews and the submission
of professional resumes and cover letters, with 25 students ultimately selected. Through this
paid experience, students will develop essential workplace and health profession skills, directly
supporting the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiative by connecting career
exploration to real-world, hands-on learning in a high-demand industry.
