The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at Proctor brings hands-on, exploratory learning to the RED Program. Through rotating stations and interactive activities, students in grades 4-6 explore a variety of career pathways and discover what they might want to do when they grow up.
CTE pathway teachers Olivia Guarno, Avery Erwin-McGuire and Jessica Kokoszki visited Conkling Elementary on Jan. 22 and Columbus Elementary on Feb. 4. The team will continue visiting two elementary schools each month.
During the visits, students build projects, solve problems and complete challenges that reflect real-world work in different professions. By introducing CTE pathways at an early age, the program encourages students to think about their futures and recognize the many paths to success after high school.
