Next Generation Learning Standards (ELA and Math)

The Board of Regents adopted the Next Generation Learning Standards in September 2017 and developed a timeline for implementation and assessment of the standards. The rollout is currently in Phase III (Full Implementation) and Grades 3-8 students will be assessed on Next Gen Standards in the Spring of 2023. NYSED developed crosswalk documents to highlight the shifts from Common Core to Next Gen Standards as well as a variety of teacher and parent resources for supporting students through the transition.
