PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT is a practice test given in October to juniors and is intended to familiarize students with the questions that are on the SAT. From these scores, students may identify areas in which they may improve with some focused study. The test is divided into two sections: Reading and Writing, and Math. A score in the top 1% of the nation makes a student eligible to compete for a National Merit Scholarship. Only juniors who take the PSAT qualify for this scholarship. Scores on the PSAT range from 160-760 per section, both sections contribute equally to the total score.
